Large abstract wall hanging or throw quilt with faced binding and bold abstract shapes in red, gold, gray, brown and pink.
Artist's Note
This was drawn from several improvised blocks that were blown up, skewed and stretched using interesting color boundary relationships and maintaining a balance between foreground and negative space. The red shape that stretches across 3 block boundaries looked like an outstretched curving wing and reminded me of the cardinals in Ohio darting between the oak trees. I chose to keep the irregular shape rather than cropping and eliminating some of the movement on the edges.
